The Countdown: 5 Days

Today there is big news; yet ANOTHER stress test will be taking place today. It's another four hour test so we have some time to get some testing done and personally, I've just built a new computer build with a new motherboard, processor, RAM and SSD which I would like to test with the game.
"We will be conducting a stress test tomorrow Tuesday, August 21 from 12:00 Noon PACIFIC Time to 4:00 PM PACIFIC Time.

We will be actively working on the game during the event, so you might experience connectivity problems or discover features that are not working as designed.

Any issues you experience are a result of the rigorous conditions of the stress test, and are in no way representative of the state of the game at launch.

By participating in this stress test, you’re helping us make Guild Wars 2 a better game. Thanks for your cooperation—we’ll see you in-game!"

Again, the characters from beta weekend three and the other stress tests will be kept for this stress test. See you guys in game and lets get onto today's topic - Guilds!

Guilds

The guild system in Guild Wars 2 is much different from every other MMO I have ever played. There are normally one of two guild systems in MMOs generally; the more popular character based guild system or the account based guild system. What I call the character based guild system is similar to that of games like World of Warcraft, each of your characters on your account can be in a guild but only one guild.
"when you're playing with each specific group of friends; you can choose to represent the guild you are in with them!"
This means that you can be in a guild of your choice but if you want to swap guild on a specific character; you must leave your current guild before joining another. Many games have also put a time constraint on this period too, meaning you would be unable to join another guild until a specific amount of time had passed. The second of these systems is the setup in the original Guild Wars; your entire account is able to join a guild, meaning each character you create will be in that guild.

Guild Wars 2 contains a system which is almost a merge between these two systems. You can basically join multiple guilds but only choose to "represent" any one guild at any one time. Meaning that you are able to join your close friends guild, your online friends guild and your school reunion friends guild (I don't know why you'd want to do that!) and when you're playing with each specific group of friends; you can choose to represent the guild you are in with them! Why should you be tied down to one guild? That's all for guilds, lets get ready for the stress test; don't forget to update your client and remember for all of us UK players, the stress test will commence at 8pm up until 12am. See you in game.
